Special Dal Masala Seasoning

Masala Dal is an Indian curry style dish made with lentils - this masala powder is packed with traditional spices, guaranteed to make cooking simple.

Special Masala Dal Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 400g red split lentils, soaked
  • 50g Dal Masala Powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Lemon Juice

Method:

  1. Add the lentils to a pan along with around 1200ml water and 30g masala powder, bring to the boil and cook uncovered on a high heat for around 10 minutes.
  2. Reduce the heat, add the masala powder & simmer for around 25-30 minutes or until the lentils are soft and the water is absorbed.
  3. Stir through the remaining masala powder with a few splashes of lemon juice and salt to taste.
  4. In a separated pan, heat 1tbsp oil and add the cumin seeds and garlic, allow them to sizzle for around 30 seconds or until fragrant and starting to brown.
  5. Add the oil to the dal and stir through.
