Kofta Masala Seasoning - Curry Powder

A tasty meatball curry packed with flavour, native to Pakistan.

Ingredients:

  • 300g onion - chopped
  • 500g minced meat (beef, chicken & lamb work best)
  • 200g tomatoes - chopped
  • 2 tbsp gram flour
  • Salt - to taste
  • 2-3 garlic cloves - minced
  • 2tsp Kashmiri Chilli Powder (optional)
  • 150g yoghurt
  • 50g Kofta Masala Seasoning
Method:

  1. Add the minced meat, gram flour, 100g onion and 20g kofta seasoning to a food processor and blitz to a paste.
  2. Shape the kofta into balls and transfer to a pan to brown (don't cook all the way).
  3. Add the onion to a pan and cook until they begin to caramelise, add the garlic and tomatoes and cook until soft.
  4. Add the onions, garlic, remaining kofta masala (and kashmiri chilli powder if using) and tomatoes to a blender and blitz until smooth, transfer to a pan along with the yoghurt, slowly bring to the boil, once this begins to separate, add around 500ml water.
  5. Add in the meatballs, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Serve hot & enjoy.
