Spanish Albondigas

A Spanish style meatball in a rich tomato sauce - serve with pasta, rice or on their own as a tasty tapas dish.


  • 400g pork mince
  • 400g pork mince
  • 100g tongmaster spanish meatball mix
  • 2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tsp tomato puree
  • 200ml red wine
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp minced onion
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika


  1. Add the beef & pork mince to a bowl and mix together, add the meatball mix along with 100ml cold (iced) water and mix by hand until thoroughly combined.
  2. Split the mince mixture into portions and roll into balls (we recommend smaller meatballs if serving as a tapas dish).
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan and brown the meatballs all over, once brown set aside.
  4. To the pan add garlic and onion and allow to fry for 1 min until soft, add the red wine and reduce.
  5. Add the tomatoes, tomato puree, paprika & parsley, season with salt & pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Add the meatballs and simmer for a further 20 minutes until the sauce has thickened and the meatballs are cooked through.
